I Run Goot

I've played online only 3 times in the past 2 weeks but with nice results. My Mookie win on Christmas Eve, a Donkament win last Friday night, and a $1 +$1 bounty turbo tournament on OddsMaker. I picked up a few bounties by the time I made it to the final table and finished 8th out of 126 for a very little payday, but it still increased my meager account on the site.




As for live play, that hasn't gone as well. The whirlwind trip to Alabama in early December was fun, but not profitable. It was a nice turnout of 35 people with a good prize pool. I got knocked out in the middle when I misplayed my 2 pair on the turn. The shortie to my right bet on the turn after the flop was checked around. It was a bounty tourney and I wanted to go heads up with him since he was already committed so I tripled his bet. I thought that would show more strength than a push, but I guess it wasn't enough to run off the guy with the open ended straight draw. I didn't have much left and he put me all in on the river. That's when I regretted that I didn't ship it one card sooner. I flipped over my 2 pair and he showed the rivered straight. Maybe he would have folded or maybe not. Bad play by me. I could have run him off when I flopped top pair if I had bet at it. Congrats to Surflexus for cashing.

I did have a good cash game session in the neighborhood about 2 weeks ago. I was able to double my buy-in and get back almost half of my Alabama tournament losses. I'm off to Kajgugu's neighborhood tonight for the make up of our regularly scheduled programming and I believe the Poker Cat Arena will be ready for some low stakes action soon.
